I forgot to fill the Ute up last week so I pulled into the local garage and they didn't have anything except 91 so I filled the Ute up with that, now I never noticed any difference in power loss and I got better mileage out of it too.

I drove to my girlfriend place and then we went to Nelson and back and I set the odometer when I filled up and I got 703km to the tank, it averaged 10.5L to 100k's. On 95 or 98 I average about 11.5 to 12L on the same trip.

If anyone else feels the same as me, that the FG audio system is crap, then I have found a simple solution. MONEY.

With enough MONEY, you can throw out all those cheap and nasty speakers they put in at the factory and replace them, the sub and the amp with real audio gear, and the difference is like night and day. No need to replace the factory stereo, just the speakers.

I have had this upgrade done to my FG and couldn't be happier. If I had known it would make this much difference I would ...

I will most likely go with the FPV Ute as I am getting a better deal, the Xr8 Ute is waiting for Me and the F6 Ute is on its way down from Auckland as we speak.

The XR8 Ute is at Greyford at the moment just sitting in their showroom, And I was going to buy it but I dropped the Cobra off for a service this morning while I'm in Chch and they have talked Me into the F6.

Here are a few photos of the new car.

Drove 400km today and its is getting better and better. This is the best Ford I have owned and by a long way. The build quality is first class and the boss has been given a real heart recharge.

The short shift manual is great, clutch is softer and is a lot easier to get off the mark. Gearing is more functional and there is more equipment than I will ever need so well done Ford.

I had read the reviews and some had said the FG is a face lift but the more ...

These are photos from the Melbourne Motor show and V8 opening day. I have contacts in high places who took these for Me. Cheers Jezza.

2 new colours, Viper "purple" as seen on the XR6T, and Mystic and dark blue/green as seen on the colour chart shot, both will be out by April. Mystic kinda looks like the nice Blue Pearl they use to have and was the best colour for a Pursuit Ute.

For the whole gallery click on this link.......I love the pace car for the V8's.

It totally blew me away, will write more of a review tomorrow and here are a couple of shots I took.

I now see why the reviews of this car are so good, just mindblowing.

I am not really mechanically minded but will try.

With the F6 having 565 nm available at only 1950 rpm upwards and the GT having 551 nm at 4750 rpm will the drive train etc last as long in the F6 seeing the it carries more torque more of the time.

Probably not making much sense but if the GT doesnt make its maximun nm until 4750 rpm will it be easier on the drive train etc over time.

Only reason I ask is that the F6 is putting up some awesome numbers and costs a lot less than the Euro ...

GoAuto can exclusively reveal the FPV GTHO proposal included the development of a supercharged version of the 5.4-litre Boss V8 that would generate as much as 400kW.

Not so much

Ford's FPV range is ready to rumble

 By ROB MAETZIG

If anyone happened to be in North Canterbury last Wednesday

and heard a strange noise that was something between a "Whoa!" and a "Yeeha!", it was probably me, and I apologise.

I know exactly when and where it happened. It was at 1.36pm,

and it was on a lovely stretch of secondary road alongside the Waiau

River near Hanmer Springs.

Why did it happen? Because that empty section of road had presented

me with my first ...

Here are a few photos from today.

All I can say is that I loved it, great car, very refined, just loved it but will drive an F6 before making the final call.

Well done FPV, you have made some good cars and we are lucky when we have difficult decisions to make with choosing these cars.

I have picked up my car now and what a difference to my BF. Even though the BF is a fantastic car the improvement is dramatic. So much quiter and smoother than my old car Power seems quite good but it is pissing down and have not had chance to stretch it's legs yet. The difference in the steering is huge. It has been well worth the wait. I hope it's a nice day tommorrow so I can have a decent go in it.

Has anybody else had a play with bluetooth phone in a FG as I cannot work out how to make ...

First post here and I have to say I am getting very excited regarding the arrival of the FG.

Spent a lot of time over the weekend on the internet learning what I could and have only got excited recently as the car is not far away from becoming reality.

Are there any of FG Falcons in the country at the moment and if so does anyone have any good pics to post?

I was looking at keeping my current BF but I think that will change now as the new car looks good on paper.

For me personally, ...

I am in business and often like to see how different companies market there new products.

Have been past a Ford dealer this week and you wouldnt know there is a new Falcon out, havent seen any ads in the paper or on the TV.

With so much pressure on the large car market I would have thought a marketing plan would be in full swing to help sell the cars right from day one in order to see Ford still produce cars in Australia in the future or perhaps the writing is already on the wall.

Was going past Stevens Ford yesterday and saw the FG XR6. The brakes went on and I popped in for a look. From the outside I have to say it was very impressive. I really liked the colour - a nice blue - not as dark as you would normally see. I tyhoiught it looked great! Next thing I know Bondy is beside me discussing the finer points. This really isn't a "makeover". It is definitely a brand new model. Then comes the offer to take it for a drive "I'd be silly not to" is the ...
